Conspiracy
theories are popular because we like to have explanation for everything, but
also because of internet. Having an explanation makes us feel safe, it protects
us from overthinking. Even if some of the conspiration theories totally don't
make sense they still can bring us some comfort. Finding an explanation may
also be a way of dealing with something that happened to us. It's easier to
come up with a story that we can believe in than stay lost and confused. Other
than that conspiracy theories are popular because of social media. You can
write anything you want on the internet and people all over the world could see
it. One viral entry is enough to spread the theory and make people come up with
new ones. The theories are popular because of social media and our need to
explain everything.
