The journey of how the books began waves it's way around the globe, but before writing anything down, people had stories. The history of storytelling goes back thousands of years, it was an important factor in everybody’s lives. By retelling stories people warned each other about possible threats, taught each other a valuable lesson or used it as a form of entertainment. Other than words there were two ways of telling a story – stone craving, which antient Greeks used to crave their language and share their history or cave drawings used by cave dwellers to create myths. The tradition of storytelling is still very important – it helps us with finding out our history. For example explorers in southern France found well preserved wall paintings from about 30.000 years ago that presented animals and day activities. It shows us how life looked during the prehistoric period. Storytelling was, is and will be an important part of our lives.
